The detainees, who were arrested in the southern city of al-Khalil (Hebron), included seven women and 105 teenagers, Amjad Najjar, the head of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) in al-Khalil, said on Thursday.
The Palestinian official added that 225 of the detainees received sentences through the Israeli practice of the so-called administrative detention, under which Palestinians are kept behind bars without charge or trial for months or even years.
According to Najjar, 78 Palestinian patients “who faced a real life threat as a result of detention” were among the inmates in Israeli jails, where they receive no “medical treatment.”
He noted that Israeli forces treat the Palestinian detainees in a “savage and inhuman way during detention.”
The PPS report pointed out that many of those detained during the six-month period were from the town of Beit Ummar, where over 60 residents, mostly minors, were arrested between January and March.
Earlier reports by the PPS showed that Israel detained 383 Palestinians across the West Bank in December 2014.
Over 7,000 Palestinians are reportedly incarcerated in 17 Israeli prisons and detention camps.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon blamed the Palestinian Authority for the attacks, saying Ramallah was inciting violence with special TV broadcasts for the Ramadan holy month.
“In the past days, days of Ramadan, there have been six attacks,” Ya’alon said on Tuesday.
“We have no doubt that the cause of this is incitement in general, and the incitement of the Palestinian Authority in particular. This is a religious holiday, and [the PA is] taking advantage of the days when people are sitting at home watching TV and movies, as a result of which people go out and then carry out attacks,” he added, in an apparent reference to the broadcasts on the PA media outlets.
Tel Aviv tightened security measures following the attacks, with military circles said that the attacks become organized more than being individual.
“Estimations indicate that there might be organized acts more than the individual ones,” Rony Daniel a military analyst told Israeli channel 2, noting that there is relation between these attacks.
For his part, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Yoram Cohen said that the Palestinian attacks went up 50 percent since 2012, when there were 683, to 1,834. However, he claimed that the Shin Bet managed to reduce such attacks.
Iran Condemns Israel’s Assault on Gaza-Bound Aid Ship
On Monday, Israel seized the Marianne of Gothenburg, the Swedish-flagged vessel which was part of the Freedom Flotilla III carrying pro-Palestinian activists, including 16 foreign nationals, to Gaza. The people wanted to highlight Israel’s blockade on the Palestinian enclave, which they have called as “inhumane and illegal.”
Afkham referred to the continued blockade of Gaza and the disastrous situation in the coastal strip, and considered the assault on the Swedish ship as against international regulations.
She further urged international bodies and governments to show proper reaction to the move by the Zionist regime.
Afkham also highlighted the necessity for ending the inhumane sanctions and blockade imposed on Gaza, stressing the need for supporting the residents of the region.
Israel has imposed a blockade on Gaza since 2007, causing a serious decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.
In 2010, Israeli commandos attacked the Turkish-flagged MV Mavi Marmara, which was part of an aid convoy named the Freedom Flotilla in the Mediterranean Sea, killing nine Turkish citizens and injuring about 50 others. A tenth individual died after four years in a coma.
The campaign to break the siege on Gaza came as Israelis are facing huge international pressure over the atrocities they committed during the war on the coastal enclave last summer.

Hebrew media outlets quoted the Israeli army spokesperson as stating that seven Palestinians were arrested in various parts of the West Bank on pretext of involvement in anti-occupation activities and affiliations with Hamas.
The arrests reportedly took place in the West Bank provinces of Ramallah, Tulkarem, Bethlehem, and al-Khalil.
The arrestees have been referred to Israeli security agencies pending further interrogation.
The Israeli occupation has stepped up its quasi-daily search-and-arrest campaigns in various parts of the West Bank in pursuit of allegedly “wanted” Palestinians.
Meanwhile, a PIC news reporter said the IOF abducted the university student Khaled Usfur from al-Khalil’s town of Dura after they broke into his family home and ravaged it at the crack of dawn.
The detainee was dragged to the Gush Etzion detention center for further investigation.
ISIL threats never scare Hamas: Official
Mahmoud al-Zahar, a founding member of Hamas, said on Wednesday that the resistance movement would respond to any threats from the terrorist group.
The senior Palestinian official made the remarks after militants from the ISIL Takfiri group threatened to attack the Palestinian resistance movement in a 16-minute video released earlier in the day.
These threats “never scare Hamas,” Zahar added.
The official further noted that the resistance movement would not bow to the threats and would continue its policies in the blockaded Gaza Strip, which is under the de facto control of Hamas.
“Those who violate the law, our security deals with them and those who want to argue with us in terms of beliefs and doctrines, we can also discuss and debate these thoughts with them,” Zahar added.
Hamas has taken strict measures in the besieged territory to curb the activities of those affiliated with the ISIL terrorist group.
In April, security forces with the Palestinian resistance movement arrested a radical Salafist sheikh on charges of membership in the Takfiri terrorist group.
“Adnan Khader Mayat from the Bureij refugee camp (in central Gaza) was arrested as part of an investigation,” a security source reported the arrest on April 6.
The ISIL terrorists control parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria. They have been engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.
Palestinian fighters affiliated with Hamas are reportedly engaged in a battle with the ISIL terrorists in the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk in southwestern Syria, near Damascus. The camp has been besieged by the terrorists and the Palestinian fighters aim to drive the terrorists out of the camp.

The seizure of the Marianne of Gothenburg by the Israeli navy in international waters, the inhumane blockade imposed on the people of Gaza, and last summer’s war in the Gaza Strip are all completely against international law, IRNA quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham as saying on Wednesday.
She called on international organizations and governments to break the silence on Israeli atrocities in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the blockade on Gaza must be lifted.

The ship was then directed to the Israeli port of Ashdod, prompting the three other vessels to turn back over fears that the Israeli navy would use deadly force.
The flotilla had planned to arrive at Gaza despite concerns over possible attempts by Tel Aviv to disrupt its mission as it did to the first flotilla in 2010. Back then, Israeli naval forces attacked the Turkish Mavi Marmara ship, which led to the death of 10 activists.
The blockade on Gaza, in place since 2007, has caused a serious decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty in the impoverished territory.
