The violence came after Palestinians gathered outside the Ofer Military prison to demonstrate ahead of the Palestinian Prisoner Day, which will be marked on Friday.
Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans calling for the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.
During the clashes, some Palestinians hurled stones at the Israeli forces who fired tear gas at them in return. No injuries were reported on either side
