Commander of Fatah al-Intifada Movement Abu Ayad Zahreh called on the
Iranian and Syrian governments to boost their support for the
Palestinians who are besieged by the Takfiri terrorists in Yarmouk
refugee camp in Damascus.
Zahreh’s request came after the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
(ISIL) terrorists entered the Palestinian Yarmouk refugee camp in
Damascus on Wednesday.
“We demand Iran and Syria to increase their support for the
Palestinians to confront the Takfiri terrorists,” Zahreh told FNA on
Thursday.

the Yarmouk camp with the help of the Al-Nusra Front terrorists from
Hajar al-Aswad region and forced Aknaf Beit-ul-Moqaddas, another
terrorist group, to withdraw from its positions in the refugee camp.
“The recent incidents in Yarmouk require all Palestinian groups who
consider themselves as a supporter of the Palestinian nation to take
action against the ISIL and the Al-Nusra Front terrorists who are trying
to widen their presence in the camp.
Clashes erupted between the Takfiri terrorists and the militant groups inside the camp on Wednesday.
Syria hosts half a million Palestinian refugees, most of them living
in Yarmouk. The camp turned into a flashpoint area in Damascus when
unrest broke out in the country in 2011.
More than 160,000 refugees lived in the camp until December 2012. But
many refugees have escaped from Yarmouk due to attacks by
foreign-backed militants who have been fighting against the government
of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
Large numbers of armed groups, affiliated to the Al-Qaeda, are reportedly fortified in the camp.
The Palestinian Authority (PA) said militants fighting against the
Syrian government are blocking aid access to the Yarmouk refugee camp in
southern Damascus.
Many people have reportedly died in Yarmouk over the past years because of food and medical shortages in the camp.
