The Iranian deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs
has called for an immediate end to Saudi Arabia’s air campaign against
Yemen, saying the only solution out of the status quo in the Arab
country would be for the Yemeni factions to engage in dialogue.
According to Press TV, in a Thursday meeting with Qatar's Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi in Doha, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian slammed Riyadh’s continued airstrikes against innocent Yemeni people as well as the impoverished country’s infrastructure.
The Iranian diplomat called on the Riyadh regime to immediately halt its aerial attacks on Yemen, describing intra-Yemeni dialogue involving all political factions as the only way out of the current situation in the Arab state.
The senior Qatari official, for his part, highlighted the need for more cooperation between countries in the Middle East, saying Qatar is ready to expand its relations with Iran in various fields.
During the meeting, the two officials also exchanged views on ways to counter the threats posed by Takfiri terrorist groups against regional states.
